My wife and I went to visit some friends in Shavertown near Wilkes-Barre last week. They took us to lunch at a restaurant Chuck’s Diner in Luzerne. It is less than ten minutes from their house.
They frequent that diner for breakfast after church on many Sundays and they want to see if we would enjoy it for lunch.
The lunch was great! I had a Ruben Sandwich with pastrami, kraut and dressing along with some really good cole slaw and fries. Fits my diet perfectly! The pastrami tasted great, not some of the bland, low salt stuff you get at most chain restaruants. It had a tasty rye bread, nice dressing and good kraut. My wife had a tuna melt which she enjoyed very much.
Service was really good. It is a family restaurant and the family actually works there. They are friendly and courteous.
Our friends had club sandwiches which were loaded, not to much, but a lot! I told them about my “Big and Greasy” posts on my blot and they said they thought the breakfasts there would qualify.
One thing I did not do was take pictures. In line with what I just said about the “Big and Greasy” post you may wonder what is wrong with me? How did I miss that? Well, I was just involved in conversation and friends. So shoot me.
Anyway! When I got home, I realized I had forgotten to take pictures but remembered my friends go there after church on some Sundays. I emailed and asked it they would take some pictures when they went there the next time. They did! Because of the pictures I can place this post under the tag “Big and Greasy” breakfasts.
How can I do that you may wonder if I was only there for lunch? Well I can because my friends verified that the breakfasts were big and greasy. I thought they had to be judging from the lunch we ate. Large sandwiches with lots of butter and fried fillings! How can the breakfasts not be great. Beside, look at the picture of the food. That is a big and greasy breakfast!
